I have been volunteering my digital marketing skills for Calvary Chapel of the Hudson Valley’s Hands and Feet Ministry. It is a brand new ministry to help those in need such as disabled, single mothers, and widows with physical needs like administrative, visitation, and construction. The ministry is to complement Stephen’s Ministries that help those who need spiritual and emotional help.
This past Saturday, Tom, one of the Hands and Feet leaders, shared a devotional with us at our meeting called, “Just Be There” by Pastor Greg Laurie. Evangelist Greg discusses that when someone is suffering that it is better not say anything than to offer a pat cliche, because we truly may not understand totally what they’re feeling.
God instructs us in the Bible to, “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:5). I completely agree with Pastor Greg’s advice to Christians which is, “One of the best things we can do for others in situations like these is to just be there, love them, and pray for them.” I look forward to sharing what the new ministry is doing to help those who need.
